Old Dubbo Gaol

Old Dubbo Gaol is a state heritage listed must-see. This remarkably complete and intact gaol operated for 119 years from 1847 to 1966 and is still nestled in the main street of Dubbo. This set of 19th and 20th-century gaol buildings create a pocket in time, and the experiences within bring history to life.

 
Dubbo Observatory

Explore the night sky, view planets, stars and galaxies through telescopes. Bring your SLR camera and take astrophotography. Bookings essential. Observe sunspots and solar prominences and play Astro mini-golf during the day.

 
Dundullimal Homestead

Immerse yourself in the Region's pioneer history at this unique destination. Wander through the historic homestead, groom's cottage, stables and machinery shed of a squatter's run established before Dubbo existed.

Be intrigued by the fascinating objects contained in the Dundullimal collection. Enjoy the picturesque gardens and delicious Devonshire teas. Pet friendly and just 1.5km past the Zoo.

 
Dubbo Regional Botanic Garden

Enliven your senses and explore 4 distinctive garden spaces. Shoyoen, or ‘strolling’ garden, is an authentic Japanese Garden featuring stunning architecture and horticulture. The Biodiversity Garden showcases local native plant communities. The Sensory Garden is an invigorating experience engaging smell, sight, sound, touch and taste. Oasis Valley exhibits dry rainforest species demonstrating how our local bushland evolved from the cool forests of Gondwanaland.

 
Royal Flying Doctor Visitor Experience

Immerse yourself in the rich and vibrant history of the Royal Flying Doctor Service. Founded in 1928 by Reverend John Flynn who famously appears on the 20 dollar note. The unforgettable exhibition is full of exciting, interactive displays that will give visitors a deeper understanding of how they work, and why the Flying Doctor is still so vitally important. The Flying Doctor continues this proud heritage today by providing crucial healthcare services to people in rural and remote areas of Australia.

 
Dubbo Regional Botanic Garden Adventure Playground

Let your kids go wild at the Dubbo Adventure Playground and explore around 40 play elements. Soar on the flying fox, speed down the giant slide and fly high on the basket swing! With BBQs, toilets and accessible elements including a wheelchair friendly Liberty Swing, plus a senior’s fitness area this is the ultimate playground for all ages and abilities.

Dubbo's premier performing arts space. Local, national and international touring shows stud the stage of this 500-seat, fully air-conditioned, tiered theatre. Located in the central business district of Dubbo and overlooks the picturesque Victoria Park.
